Amazing Sandwiches, Friendly Staff! Don't be intimidated by the long line--it's absolutely worth the wait! Plus, the staff keeps things moving efficiently, so you'll be served in no time. A special shoutout to the lady at the pickup counter (she's always there!)--she's super cool and clearly cares about her customers. You're awesome! TIP: Order online to skip the line altogether.

Michael's is in a commercial area of San Rafael and caters to a lot of the workers in the area. You know a place is good when you see people who work really hard for their money come and spend it on lunch here. The turkey on sourdough is fantastic and big enough to share if you get some chips. The only bummer about Michael's is it's not open on the weekend.

Best sandwich in Marin and quite possibly one of the best in the Bay Area. Place is tucked away in the back of a strip center in a light industrial zone of San Rafael. Go with the #4 everything / spicy mustard - total winner. Bread is crusty sourdough that crunches but doesn't make your jaw sore to chew it up. I'm a big fan of Sub Center and Michael's Sourdough is neck and neck in a tie for my best Bay Area sandwich spot.

Mikes ranks (for me) as one of the highest sandwich places in my catalogue. I love this place, the bread is soft, the meat and veggie are cold, spreads are delicious. I've never had a bad sandwich here and I've been to all 4 locations. This one is situated in the industrial section of San Rafael, so if you're working nearby, you are so lucky! Whenever I'm back in the North bay, I always make it a mission to visit Mike's!

Another Marin County mystery, sandwich shop beloved by all is tucked away in obscure office-y cul-de-sac, accessible only thru knowledge of freeway over- and under-passes. Sandwiches, on the other hand, are pretty good. Staff are super efficient.

I have not been here since who knows when before COVID, so I was glad to see they are still here and going strong! Came here about 2pm, an hour or so before closing, and it was busy! I ordered a #11, a mixed cheese sandwich, and waited just a few minutes. The sandwich was what I remembered so fondly . . . just enough cheese, lots of toppings, and that fresh baked bread! Missed the pickle spear, though . . . when did that go away? Overall, for the price today, still a good deal and a delicious meal.

Okay, who doesn't love Michael's Sourdough - not really a question! The baller on a budget days are way over! Just be happy you can get a filling sandwich made with love for less than $12. Try their hearty salads, too - I like their Chef salad. They also have a location in Novato, used to have one in P-town. There's bacon Wednesdays, what a nice way to start hump dayyyyyy! The sandwiches are good for two meals, I usually bring the other half for my other half lol. Check out the Sour Kid Cafe next door, part of the Michael's Sourdough family. Also open Mon-Fri serving breakfast sandwiches, pastries and coffee from 6am-2pm. Support local businesses, that's what Yelpers do best! 'Til next time ~ cheers and see you on Yelp (SYOY)!
